IT Specialist
RapidFort is a cutting-edge cybersecurity startup on a mission to automate vulnerability management. We've developed an innovative Open Source project featuring a collection of popular Open Source container images that are automatically hardened via our Software Attack Surface Management Platform.
We are looking for an IT Specialist to support the organization’s day-to-day IT operations. Responsibilities include user onboarding/offboarding, equipment acquisition and management, help desk support, subscription tracking, application installation, and compliance monitoring. The IT Specialist ensures a secure and efficient technical environment for all users. Anticipated starting salary is $70,000-80,000/yr DOE OTE.
Minimum Requirements
- Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of IT support or systems administration experience.
- Proficiency in Windows, macOS, and major SaaS platforms (e.g., Google Workspace, Office 365).
- Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., Jira).
- Basic knowledge of networking and IT security principles.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools (e.g.,Electric AI or JumpCloud).
- Familiarity with identity providers (Okta, Azure AD, Google).
- ITIL certification or knowledge of IT service management best practices.
- Exposure to compliance and governance frameworks.
- Customer service orientation
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

- Clear verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities
- Key Responsibilities1. User Lifecycle Management
- Onboard and offboard users across systems (email, identity provider, VPN, etc.).
- Maintain and audit user access according to role-based access control policies.
- Document all provisioning and de-provisioning activities.
- Serve as the first point of contact for Tier 1 & Tier 2 IT issues.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and application problems.
- Escalate unresolved issues to senior IT personnel or vendors.
- Procure and deploy laptops, monitors, peripherals, and mobile devices.
- Maintain a current and accurate inventory of IT assets.
- Image, configure, and prepare new hardware for deployment.
- Coordinate return and decommissioning of hardware.
- Track software subscription usage and renewal schedules.
- Ensure license compliance and cost efficiency.
- Liaise with vendors for quotes, renewals, and technical support.
- Enforce internal security policies (MFA, encryption, etc.).
- Monitor endpoint compliance (patch management, antivirus, device health, etc.).
- Support audits and provide required documentation.
- Assist in maintaining compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001).
- Install, update, and configure software on user systems.
- Support usage of productivity tools and collaboration platforms.
- Create and maintain user documentation and training resources.
- Maintain SOPs, inventory records, and support logs.
- Develop and manage a knowledge base of IT processes and FAQs.
- Report on KPIs such as ticket volume, response/resolution times, and asset status.
