Technical Writer

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our growing team. As a Technical Writer at RapidFort, you will play a critical role in creating clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation for our products, APIs, and security solutions. You’ll collaborate with engineers, product managers, and cybersecurity experts to demystify complex concepts and make our solutions accessible to a wide range of technical and non-technical audiences. Anticipated salary is $120,000-$140,000 depending on experience.

Minimum Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Communication, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of technical writing experience, preferably in the software or cybersecurity industry.
  • Strong understanding of technical concepts related to cybersecurity, cloud platforms, and/or DevOps.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with documentation tools such as Markdown, Confluence, GitHub, Swagger, or similar.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team.
  • Portfolio or samples of previous technical writing work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with security solutions, vulnerability management platforms, or developer tools.
  • Knowledge of best practices for API and SaaS documentation.
  • Experience creating diagrams and visual aids.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, write, and maintain high-quality documentation, including user manuals, developer guides, API documentation, release notes, FAQs, and knowledge base articles.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and support teams to gather information and understand product features and requirements.
  • Translate complex cybersecurity and technical concepts into clear, accessible content for users at different experience levels.
  • Edit, review, and organize documentation for clarity, consistency, and accuracy according to RapidFort’s style guidelines.
  • Participate in the entire software development life cycle to proactively update and improve documentation with each release.
  • Assist with internal documentation and process guides as needed.
  • Incorporate feedback from internal teams and customers to continually improve documentation quality.
  • Help develop and maintain templates, best practices, and documentation standards.
